Don’t let occasional bloating and gas affect your daily life!
Feeling bloated, constipated or dealing with embarrassing gas are more than just physical discomforts—they can disrupt your entire day, leaving you feeling uneasy and self-conscious. Whether it’s an important meeting, a social event, or simply going about your day, digestive issues can make you feel very unconformable, both physically as mentally. Intoleran helps you manage digestive distractions, so you can feel more comfortable, confident, and ready to take on your day.

Lactose (milk sugar)
Lactose is one of the FODMAPs; fermentable carbohydrates (sugars). Lactose, also known as “milk sugar,” is primarily found in milk and other dairy products such as cream, custard, quark, mascarpone, fresh (cream) cheese, biscuits and cakes. Additionally, lactose can also be present in processed meats, chips, sweets, soft drinks, breakfast cereals and certain medications and dietary supplements. Therefore, it is always important to read food labels carefully. Lactose can be listed under various names, such as milk powder, whey, milk sugar and milk solids.

Digestion of lactose in the body
The digestive enzyme Lactase is responsible for the digestion of lactose. In the intestines, the Lactase enzyme splits lactose into glucose and galactose so that it can be absorbed by the intestinal wall. If there is too little of the Lactase enzyme present, as in lactose intolerance, lactose cannot be split, and therefore it cannot be sufficiently absorbed in the small intestine.

Frequently asked questions

about Lactase 10,000

We recommend starting with 3 capsules of lactase 3000 or lactase 10,000, 4 tablets of lactase 2500 or 2 tablets of lactase 20,000 prior to lactose-containing meals. This way, enough of the digestive enzyme lactase enters the body, which helps digest lactose. Should this amount be sufficient, you could try a lower dosage. How many tablets or capsules are sufficient may vary from person to person.

Our lactase capsules and tablets are safe to use several times a day. We do recommend that you stick to the maximum set number of tablets or capsules per day. For the lactase 2500 this is a maximum of 20 tablets per day, for the lactase 10,000 this is a maximum of 15 capsules per day. For the lactase 20,000, the maximum is 10 tablets per day.

With the lactase tablets and capsules, we have different strengths available. This strength is expressed in FCC per capsule. You can choose from 2500, 10,000 and 20,000. If it is your first time trying one of our lactase products, we generally recommend trying one of the higher strengths first, for example the 10,000 or 20,000. Starting higher will give you a clearer indication of whether it will work well for you or not when you first try it. At a lower dose, it may be unclear if it helps or not, or it may be that the dose wasn't high enough. If you have a milder degree of intolerance or only want to use the capsules or tablets for smaller amounts of lactose, you can choose the 2500 tablets. If you are more sensitive to lactose or want to consume larger amounts of lactose you may want to choose the 10,000 or 20,000.
