What’s the difference between Enzymix and Digest Gold?

Both cover the same nine enzyme types: amylase, protease, lipase, cellulase, invertase, lactase, maltase, glucoamylase and alpha-galactosidase. Digest Gold adds four further enzymes aimed specifically at plant fiber, pectinase, xylanase, hemicellulase and beta-glucanase, alongside an ATPro blend (ATP, magnesium citrate, phytase, CoQ10) for energy support rather than digestion itself.[3]

Enzyme blend: how to compare strength?

Both labels use different unit systems for several enzymes (IU vs. FCC-based units like GalU, ALU, INVU), so exact strength isn’t directly comparable enzyme-for-enzyme, only presence and relative formulation focus.[1,3]

What each ingredient specifically breaks down

• Amylase: one of the main enzymes involved in starch digestion, starting in the mouth.[5]
• Protease: breaks down proteins into peptides and amino acids.[10]
• Lipase: breaks down fats into fatty acids and glycerol.[10]
• Alpha-galactosidase: humans lack this enzyme themselves, so raffinose-family carbohydrates (found in beans, legumes, cabbage) pass undigested into the colon, where they ferment and cause gas.[4]
• Lactase: breaks down lactose (milk sugar, found in dairy like milk, cheese and cream) into glucose and galactose.[6]
• Invertase (sucrase): breaks down sucrose (table sugar) into glucose and fructose.[7]
• Maltase / glucoamylase: breaks down starches (found in rice, wheat and corn) into glucose.[9]
• Cellulase: breaks down cellulose, a fiber found in plant cell walls. No human clinical trials have been found for cellulase at supplement doses; the evidence base is from animal-feed research.

Digest Gold’s four additional enzymes (pectinase, xylanase, hemicellulase, beta-glucanase) target other plant fibers (pectin, xylan/hemicellulose, beta-glucans). No human clinical trials have been found for these either.
